Townsend Street Party

New Irish language entrants completed their training course at Northern Visions with a location shoot at the Townsend Street Party in the lower Shankill, where residents staged a colourful parade, horse and carriage rides and a carousel as a homage to Mickey Marley’s roundabout as part of the area’s festivities.

On offer were various traditional craft workshops including how to recycle materials for various crafts, stalls where local community groups and charities explained their services to the community, a drama, a tea dance and the Armagh Rhymers who performed their unique blend of mumming, poetry, dance and song.
