Producers Forum (2011)

A producers forum networking event was held in the Gresham hotel in July 2011.

The aim of the event was to give community television producers an opportunity to showcase some of their work and discuss the processes involved in community television production.

The participants included members of CTA and individuals who have produced community television programmes. The type of community media productions included everything from authored and volunteer lead programmes, facilitated volunteer projects and also community development projects and Sound and Vision funded projects. This gave a good sense of the variety of different types of television programmes being produced.

The participants were sourced through the CTA, Neartv, DCTV, Ballymun communications, Cork Community Television (CCTV) and Leitrim communications.

Themes on the day included

  • Community Media Documentaries
  • Video Activism
  • Working with Community Groups
  • Filming Local Events
  • Studio and Formats.
